Two brothers, David & Tommy Lancaster, began working in the grilling business when their family opened the Lancaster Hearth & Patio Store in Greensboro, NC.
1997
After receiving numerous questions from customers about how to safely clean their grill, David developed the first grill cleaner formula, Bryson Cleaner, with help from an uncle in the chemical industry.

Bryson Cleaner, a hit among customers, was filled in the kitchen sink and sold in the family store.

Bryson Cleaner was renamed to CitruSafe BBQ Grill Cleaner.

Bryson Industries, named after the Lancaster brothers’ grandfather, was incorporated and created a new grill cleaning category.

CitruSafe was officially launched as a national brand at the Hearth, Patio & Barbecue Association Expo.

Bryson Industries landed its first national retail account when CitruSafe was sold in Kmart stores nationwide.

Tommy Lancaster joined Bryson Industries as the Chief Operating Officer.

CitruSafe’s bottle design changed from a printed bottle to a shrink sleeve design, revolutionizing the industry.

CitruSafe gained retail space nationwide in Lowe’s Home Improvement grilling sections, selling over 3 times the initial forecast.
2011
CitruSafe began sponsoring Burt Myers Racing through connections at Bowman Gray Stadium in Winston-Salem, NC.

CitruSafe shipped international to Lowe’s Canada stores.
